Mike is a Research Specialist for The Ohio State University and has worked in the Food Animal Health Research Program at The Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center in Wooster since 2002. For most of those years, he has managed the ongoing research efforts of Dr. Jeff LeJeune but for the past several years has been working in association with Dr. Gireesh Rajashekara. Mike earned his Associate of Applied Science degree in Dairy Herd Management from the Agricultural Technical Institute and then his Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Business and Economics from The Ohio State University in 2012. Mike has been involved in the design and implementation of many research projects involving pre-harvest food safety intervention strategies for both animal and vegetable production systems. Most recently he has been working with the Amish community to determine the food safety risks of using biological soil amendments of animal origin.
