    On December 16th, CFAH hosted it's 2021 Holiday Christmas Party for all CFAH faculty, staff, students, and their guests. A delicious boxed lunch was sponsored by the CFAH faculty and fun was had by all ages thanks to holiday activities put together by social committee members, Hannah Gehman and Mike Kauffman.

  4. Dr. Gireesh Rajashekara receives CFAES Distinguished Senior Faculty Research Award

    Congratulations to Dr. Gireesh Rajashekara for being awarded the prestigious 2021-2022 Distinguished Senior Faculty Research Award!  The CFAES Distinguished Senior Faculty Research Award honors academic, disciplinary, and professional excellence in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences.

    On December 17, 2021 the Graduate Student Unit (GSU) at CFAH welcomed grad students and post-docs from CFAH and Animal Sciences to their inaugural event hosted at JAFB in Wooster. The group had 9 attendees and is planning their next event which will be held on Jan 28th.

  6. Yusheng Guo receives William E. Krauss Director’s Award

    Congratulations to Yusheng Guo who received the 2021-2022 William E. Krauss Director’s Award for Outstanding Publication by a Graduate Student on behalf of the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences and the Office of Research and Graduate Education. His advisor is Dr. Vlasova.

     

  7. Successful completion of CFAH student dissertations

    Congratulations to the following CFAH graduate students on successfully completing their graduate defenses:

    Moyasar Abdulhameed successfully completed his master’s defense. His dissertation was titled “Characterization of Cross-Species Transmission Potential for Porcine Deltacoronaviruses Expressing Sparrow Coronavirus Spike Protein in Commercial Poultry”.

    Congratulations to Kush Yadav (Kenney Lab) on winning the David Francis Award (3rd place) given by the NC1202 Enteric Diseases of Food Animals Awards Committee. His oral presentation was entitled: “Ribosomal protein S17 (RPS17) insertion increases avian hepatitis E virus (aHEV) replication”
