On Friday September 30th, GSU CFAH hosted their first in-person guest speaker, CFAH alum Dr. Stephanie Langel.
After obtaining her PhD from OSU, Dr. Langel joined Duke University as a post-doc and medical instructor in the Department of Surgery and Center for Human Systems Immunology. Recently, Dr. Stephanie accepted a position as Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University's School of Medicine in the department of Pathology & Center for Global Health and Diseases in Cleveland, Ohio.
Graduate students, visiting scholars, and post docs had the opportunity to learn about Dr. Langel's professional journey leading to her accepting an Assistant Professor position at Case Western, advice about navigating the world of academia, and as well as some of her best memories from graduate school in CFAH.
Thank you to Dr. Langel for taking the time to meet with GSU CFAH in-person!
The GSU event also had a special guest appearance by Michael Abundo, CFAH MS alumni.
The CFAH Graduate Student Unit welcomes all graduate students, post-docs, and visting scholars to their events held every last Friday of each month. Events include an alumni speaker and a fun event planned for after. The October event is currently in planning.
