GSU/CFAH welcomes CFAH alum Dr. Mahesh KC to March meeting

On March 25th the CFAH graduate student unit met for conversation and dinner at JAFB in Wooster. During the event they had the opportunity to connect with and gain insight from CFAH alumnus, Dr. Mahesh KC.

Dr. KC received his PhD in Veterinary Preventive Medicine from The Ohio State University in 2020. He is a postdoctoral Scientist in Dr. Mark E. Peeple’s lab at the Center for Vaccines and Immunity, Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Dr. KC’s research focus is on pathogenesis and vaccine development study of important respiratory viruses, SARS-CoV-2, and respiratory syncytial virus. The measles virus vectored vaccine candidates developed by a collaborative team in which he is involved are licensed to Biological E. Limited (BE), Hyderabad, India-based vaccine & pharmaceutical company.

His advice to students:

“Do not feel low, instead put more effort on your work and you will succeed for sure.”

“Communicate with your PI, colleagues, and anyone related to you work.”

“Teamwork is key in your success.”
