Four CFAH graduate students awarded for their abstracts at CRWAD 2024

 Congratulations to our four CFAH graduate students on receiving Student Awards of the NC1202 Enteric Diseases of Food Animals at CRWAD 2024:

 

Kush Kumar Yadav (Kenney lab)

Name of Award: Lynn Joens Memorial Award (1st Place)

Title of Abstract:  Rat hepatitis E virus (HEV) cross-species infection and transmission in pigs

Amount of Award: $250

 

Yu Li (Wang lab)

Name of Award:  Lynn Joens Memorial Award (3rd Place)

Title of Abstract:  Isolation and characterization of bovine coronavirus strains from dairy cows, dairy calves, and beef cattle

Amount of Award: $150

 

Mingde Liu (Wang lab)

Name of Award:  David Francis Award (2nd Place)

Title of Abstract:  Generation of safe, efficacious, and attenuated PEDV vaccine candidates using a recombination-resistant platform

Amount of Award: $200

 

Anusree Thenissery (Rajashekara lab)

Name of Award:  David Francis Award (3rd Place)

Title of Abstract:  Investigating efficacy and mechanism of action of novel small molecule inhibitors of avian pathogenic E. coli

For over 100 years, CRWAD has featured cutting-edge research on animal health and disease, population health, and translational medicine. CRWAD 2024 featured lectures from world-renowned featured speakers in addition to showcasing over 400 research presentations made by scientific experts and scientists in training from around the world. In 2024, CRWAD was held in Chicago.
