On May 8th, two of CFAH’s own received their degrees from The Ohio State University along with 12,439 of their fellow graduates.
Amir Ghorbani, a Ph.D. candidate advised by Dr. Scott Kenney, received his Ph.D. from the Department of Veterinary Preventive Medicine – College of Veterinary Medicine. Amir successfully defended his dissertation titled “Study towards the development of broadly reactive live attenuated influenza vaccines with focus on high interferon inducing viral subpopulations” on April 11th 2022. Dr. Ghorbani has accepted a Postdoc position in Dr. Jonathan Yewdell’s laboratory at the National Institutes of Health located in Bethesda, Maryland.
Sara Tallmadge, a laboratory animal technologist and CFAH staff member, received her B.S. in Health Sciences from the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences – College of Medicine. Sara will continue working within the Center for Food Animal Health alongside Dr. Juliette Hanson, DVM and the Animal Care Staff by offering veterinary care, research support, management, and training. Sara is considering applying to graduate programs in the near future.
