Oct. 13, 2023

The University Laboratory Safety Committee (ULSC) at The Ohio State University recognized the sixth annual winners of the “Excellence in Safety” Award. The award, in three categories, recognizes a university faculty or staff member (Individual Award), an undergraduate or graduate student (Student Award) and a laboratory research group (Group Award) who have made considerable contributions to improving laboratory safety on the Ohio State campus. This year our CFAH Animal Care Staff was recognized as winners of the “Excellence in Safety” Group Award for their work in developing and implementing new biosecurity protocols and personnel trainings regarding biosecurity, biosafety, building procedures, research animal care, and safety for personnel working in our animal housing and research facilities. They were also commended for their work in continuously upholding the requirements of OSU EHS, Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, Institutional Biosafety Committee, AALAAC accreditation, and most importantly research animal health requirements and safety.
