  1. Ohio State’s Animal Care and Use Program Retains Full Accreditation

    Ohio State recently completed the triannual review of the animal care and use program for both our biomedical and agricultural programs and was awarded continued full accreditation by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) International.

  2. Dr. Linda Saif named 2023 ACVM Distinguished Veterinary Microbiologist

    Congratulations to Dr. Linda Saif for being selected as the 2023 ACVM Distinguished Veterinary Microbiologist Award recipient!

    Dr. Saif is a Distinguished University Professor in the Center for Food Animal Health and Veterinary Preventive Medicine. She has had a long and distinguished career, publishing over 400 peer-review scientific journal articles, exceeding 17 million dollars of funded extramural support, and having mentored many successful graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.

    Congratulations to Molly Raque who passed her master’s degree exam on October 25, 2022! Her research thesis was titled “The Role of Differential Host Glycan Interactions in Rotavirus Cell Entry and Replication”.

    Her advisor is Dr. Anastasia Vlasova.

    Molly's goal is to help close the gaps between animal and human health through research and development, more information about Molly's experience and research interests can be found HERE.

  7. CFAH doctoral candidates receive CRWAD travel award

    Congratulations to both Menuka Bhandari (Rajashekara lab) and Kush Yadav (Kenney lab) on receiving $500 CRWAD student travel awards to present their abstracts at the upcoming meeting in January 2023. Menuka and Kush were chosen as two of 20 awardees after submiting a 500 word essay during the abstract submission process to explain how their research is of interest to the attendees of the CRWAD conference.

  8. CFAH Stamps Out Disease at the 2022 Farm Science Review

    CFAH volunteers travelled to the 60th Farm Science Review held in London, OH from Sept. 20th-22nd to share the history of the Center for Food Animal Health, our research focuses, and to help attendees learn how to Stamp Out Disease. The 2022 Farm Science Review welcomed 114,589 visitors during the course of the three-day event which is held at the Molly Caren Agricultural Center.

  10. Congratulations to our CFAH Summer Commencement graduate - Dr. Xiaoyu Niu!

    Xiaoyu Niu, advised by Dr. Qiuhong Wang, received his Ph.D. from the Department of Veterinary Preventive Medicine – College of Veterinary Medicine after successfully defending his dissertation titled “Study towards the development of effective and safe live attenuated PEDV vaccines” on July 8th 2022. He has accepted a post-doctoral position in Dr. Ralph Baric’s lab at the University of North Carolina.
