Below is some helpful information included in our New Employee Welcome Packet:

Important additional information on transportation options:

  • Several taxi companies in Wooster are in flux. There are ride share services such as Swoop Express, Lyft and Uber. There is a way to access any point in Wooster or within 1 mile of Wooster city limits for $5 per ride (unless both points are within ¼ of a mile of a bus stop on the fixed route system.  CFAES Wooster is ½ a mile from the nearest fixed route stop at campus' northwest corner).  And the twice daily bus to Columbus and back (and once a day to/from Akron) now stops at the large new Marathon BellStores between the public library (a stop on the fixed route city bus) and the Wayne County Fairgrounds

Other helpful links:

  • Secrest Arboretum - A 110-acre outdoor laboratory and landscape garden located on the CFAES Wooster Campus. A great place for walks, the Secrest Arboretum provides an accessible, sustainable, well-documented collection of horticulturally relevant trees, shrubs, and herbaceous perennial plants.
  • Wooster Chamber of Commerce - A local business leadership organization that represents the interests of various sectors of the local community, the Wooster Chamber of Commerce is a great resource to help keep you and your family informed on events occurring in Wooster and the surrounding areas.
